I began my career
as a USGTF golf professional in 1994. After years of playing and
enjoying the game of golf, I realized a need in the growing
market for golf lessons in St. John’s, Newfoundland. I decided
at that time to open Fairways Golf Center in downtown St.
John’s, the first indoor driving range and teaching facility in
the province. I operated this business for a number of years,
giving on average 1,200 golf lessons per year.
In 2001 I
accepted a position as head professional at the newly opened
Clovelly Golf Course in St. John’s. I continued in this position
for two years, after which I accepted a position as head
professional at the 100-year-old Bally Haly Golf and Curling
Club, the only private golf club in the province. It is in this
position that I remain today.
